    South EU Summit’s editorial team is comprised of an international team of journalists and communication specialists with wide-ranging areas of expertise. We pride ourselves in developing firsthand content, and undertaking personal interviews with the most influential players in each market.

  • Mary Reed Davis

    Mary is a writer focused on economics, energy resources, and international politics and serves as the managing editor of online content for the South EU Summit Magazine. She holds an MA in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and worked in China for five years as a journalist before relocating to Europe. She currently lives in Italy with her husband.

  • Katrina Pirner

    Katrina is a Berlin-based freelance writer who focuses on economics, disruptive technology and politics. She’s previously worked in Canada, Italy, Belgium, and the US. Katrina holds a MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University where she concentrated in European political economy.

  • Kaitlin Lavinder

    Kaitlin is a freelance writer based in Washington, DC. She holds an MA in International Economics and European Studies from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and previously worked as a national security reporter and Europe analyst. She has conducted on the ground research in Germany, Poland, Estonia, Czech Republic, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.

  • Lalela Chryssanthopoulou

    Lalela is a financial news journalist, based in Athens, with a degree in Law from the University of Athens. Having written for numerous Greek print and electronic media, she has also worked as a fixer for international news outlets, following a short stint at the Greek Service of the BBC in London. She is currently the international financial news editor of “Ethnos” newspaper.

  • Simon Meretab

    Simon is a freelance writer focused on migration, human rights and development. He holds a MA in International and European Relations from Linkoping University, Sweden. He worked in international development in Italy and South Africa and human rights advocacy for NGOs based at the United Nations Offices in Geneva.

  • Tori Travers

    Tori is a freelance writer focused on international diplomacy and forced migration. She holds a dual BA in Public Policy and Global Studies from the University of Virginia and spent the past year resettling refugees in the US and assisting asylum seekers in Greek island refugee camps. Currently, she lives and works in Geneva.

    Lana is a freelance journalist based in New York City. She has a M.Sc. in International Conflict from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has worked as an analyst, reporter, and editor, covering extremism, culture, economics, and democracy.

  • Ruairi Kavanagh

    Ruairi is an Irish writer, editor and author with 25 years of experience across national and specialist media. He specialises in reporting on matters relating to education, development,emergency services, international affairs, defence and security with particular interest in European affairs, the Balkan region, the Middle East and Africa.

  • Michael Fedynsky

    Michael Fedynsky is a freelance writer based in Washington, DC. He is pursuing an MA at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he focuses on the political economy of Europe and Eurasia. He has previously studied and worked in France, Ukraine, Italy, Luxembourg, and the US.

    Clay Webster has more than a dozen years of experience reporting on the topics of personal finance, investing and energy markets. Previously, he covered coal and environmental markets for Platts, Asian stock markets for BecomeaBettorInvestor.net and mutual funds for US News & World Report. He lives with his wife and son in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
